1.            Why do we have a Privacy Policy?

At Personal Animal Welfare Services (PAWS), there's a reason we collect data from our clients. We want to ensure you have the best experience possible, every time you deal with us, whether in-person or online. For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, the data we collect includes Personal Information which is any information that can be used to personally identify you.  If the information we collect personally identifies you, or you are reasonably identifiable from it, whether or not the information is true or whether or not it is recorded in a material form, the information will be considered Personal Information. When you interact with PAWS, you trust us with your information and expect us to protect and use it appropriately. We take privacy seriously and are committed to keeping that trust. That starts with an understanding of our privacy practices. We collect, hold, use and disclose Personal Information to assist us in carrying on our business, including to provide products and services to you. In this policy we explain how we collect your Personal Information, how we hold, use and disclose it and what controls you have over it and our use of it. PAWS is committed to protecting the privacy of Personal Information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Act). This Privacy Policy sets out the way we handle Personal Information and includes information on how we collect, use, disclose, keep secure and provide you with access to your Personal Information and your choices regarding this information. This policy applies to users of PAWS’ services anywhere in Australia.

2.   What Personal Information do we collect?

Examples of Personal Information we may collect from you includes your name, address, gender, email address, telephone number, occupation and previous order information. PAWS uses the information we collect to provide, personalise, maintain and improve delivery of our products and services. This includes using the information to: - create and update your account - verify your identity - assist us in providing tailored products and services to you - process orders you place with us via our electronic or mobile ordering system, and providing you with email or SMS confirmation of your orders - perform internal operations necessary to provide our products and services, including to troubleshoot software bugs and operational problems, to conduct data analysis, testing, and research, and to monitor and analyse usage and activity trends - adjust features to personalise your experience on our website - identify products and services that may be of interest to you - assist you with remembering and re-ordering from us in future - administer and conduct educational activities - fulfill any legal and regulatory requirements When we collect Personal Information, we will, where appropriate and where possible, notify you and explain to you why we are collecting the information and how we plan to use it. Those are just a few examples so please review this Privacy Policy closely and let us know if you have any queries. Through our Website we can obtain Personal Information if you send such information in an email or when you complete an online enquiry or request our services. When you visit our Website we may make a record of your visit.  The following information may be logged for statistical purposes and for the purposes of marketing and advertising to you: - your IP address; - the date and time of your visit to our site; - the pages that you have accessed and the documents downloaded; and - the type of browser you were using. This type of statistical information helps us to better understand visitor traffic so we can improve our services. This data is mostly anonymous and does not identify you. We collect information about how you interact with our services. This includes information such as access dates and times, website features or pages viewed and other system activity. We may also collect an opinion (including information or an opinion forming part of a database, whether true or not, and whether recorded in a material form or not, about an individual whose identity is apparent, or can reasonably be ascertained from the information or opinion). We do not collect Sensitive Personal Information, which includes information about racial or ethnic groups or religious beliefs, without your express consent or as otherwise required by law.

3.                             How safe is it?

Now here's the official bit.  Keeping your Personal Information safe and secure is our priority.  Please note that our Website does not provide systems for secure transmission of Personal Information across the internet, except where otherwise indicated.  When emailing or providing Personal Information to us via our Website, please be aware that there are risks involved in transmitting Personal Information via the internet.  Our Website may contain links to other websites operated by third parties. We make no representations or warranties in relation to the privacy practices employed by third party providers and for Personal Information provided by you via unsecured websites. The third party providers and websites you interact with are responsible for informing you about their own privacy practices and we encourage you to read their privacy policies. We cannot provide a guarantee with respect to the security of your Personal Information, and we will not be liable for any breach of security or unintended loss or disclosure of information due to the Website being linked to the internet. Facebook Custom Audiences: If you use Facebook, we may use your email address in an encrypted format to match with your Facebook profile so that we can provide you with personalised advertising on Facebook. This is subject to the privacy settings you have chosen on Facebook. Facebook Lookalike Audiences: If you use Facebook, we may use your email address in an encrypted format to enable Facebook to find other registered users of their services that share similar interests to you based on how you interact with PAWS and what information Facebook has about you. This is subject to the privacy settings you have chosen on Facebook. You submit information over the internet at your own risk. We only keep your Personal Information for as long as it is required for the purpose for which it was collected. We will take appropriate measures to destroy or permanently de-identify your Personal Information if we no longer need to retain it. Most of the Personal Information is or will be stored by us for a minimum period of time in compliance with relevant company, legal, tax and accounting laws. You also have rights. What we won't do with your data is use it to fill your inbox with irrelevant or unwanted spam or sell your data to anyone else.

4.                                 What Else?

Customer support PAWS uses the information we collect to provide customer support services, including to: - direct your questions to the appropriate customer support person - investigate and address your concerns - monitor and improve our customer support responses - administer and respond to your enquiry or feedback about our products and services - process and respond to any feedback provided by you Legal proceedings and requirements PAWS may share your information if we believe it is required by applicable law, regulation, operating agreement, legal process or governmental request, or where the disclosure is otherwise appropriate due to safety or similar concerns: Communications from PAWS PAWS may use the information we collect to communicate with you about: promoting and marketing current and future products, services, promotions, studies, surveys, news and updates conducting, and allowing you to participate in, a promotional activity, survey or market research; fulfil any related awards, and serve you relevant ads and content about our goods or services and those of our business partners. special promotions and offers and analysing our products and services so as to improve and develop new products and services. This communication (including direct marketing materials) may take place via: email, text messages, other digital, phone, internet-based marketing including targeted online advertising and online behavioural marketing. You consent to us sending you those direct marketing communications by any of those methods. PAWS may share your information other than as described in this policy if we notify you and you consent to the sharing. Vendors We may share your Personal Information with vendors who provide services to us, such as fulfilling orders, carrying out research (data processing), managing promotions, personalising customer experiences and other information technology services. We do not allow these vendors to use this information or to share it for any purpose other than to provide services on our behalf.

5.                       Marketing Opt-Outs

At any time, you may opt-out of receiving direct marketing communications from us. We will then ensure your details are removed from our mailing lists and stop sending direct marketing communications to you within a reasonable period after your request is made (usually within 5 business days from receiving your request). To opt-out follow the instructions in the marketing communications we send you or contact us. Please note that if you opt out, we may still send you non-promotional messages, such as receipts or information about your account.

6.                                   Security

We take protecting your Personal Information seriously and are continuously developing our security systems and processes. We take reasonable steps to protect your Personal Information from misuse and loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. We do this by having physical and electronic security systems and by limiting who can access your Personal Information. We also have online and network security systems in place for our websites, so that the information you provide us online is protected and secure. Your Personal Information may be held in electronic or hard copy form. We may use third party service providers to store some personal information. As our Website and smart device application are linked to the internet which is inherently insecure, PAWS cannot provide any assurance regarding the security of the information you communicate to us online. We cannot guarantee that such information will not be intercepted so you transmit such information at your own risk. Please contact us if you become aware of, or suspect, any breach of security. If we become aware of a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm (for example, your Personal Information was shared with unauthorised persons) we will notify you as soon as is practicable and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner about that actual or possible breach.

7.    Access and Correction of Personal Information

We aim to ensure that any information we obtain from you is accurate. You can request access to your Personal Information or advise us of any required correction and information which you believe to be inaccurate by forwarding a request to; support@personalisedanimalwelfareservices.com.au We will require you to verify your identity and to specify what information you require. We may charge a fee to cover the cost of verifying the application and locating, retrieving, reviewing and copying any material requested. If the information sought is extensive, we will advise the likely cost in advance and can help to refine your request if required. The exceptions under the Australian Privacy Principles which affect your right to access your Personal Information we hold about you include the following: - access would pose a serious threat to the life or health of any individual, - access would have an unreasonable impact on the privacy of others, - a frivolous or vexatious request, - the information relates to a commercially sensitive decision-making process, - access would be unlawful or denying access is required or authorised by law, - access would prejudice enforcement activities relating to criminal activities and other breaches of law, public revenue, a security function, or negotiations with the individual, - legal dispute resolution proceedings.

Although we are committed to ensuring that at all times there is strict adherence to the Australian Privacy Principles, in the event that you are dissatisfied in any way with the collection, use, storage and/or disclosure of your Personal Information or believe that there has been a breach of the Australian Privacy Principles or if our Privacy Policy does not answer a question that you have about how we manage your Personal Information, we invite you to contact us as soon as possible via email at; support@personalisedanimalwelfareservices.com.au Any complaints are to be made in writing to PAWS and PAWS is then allowed a reasonable time (within 30 days) to respond to complaints. We may ask you to participate in a dispute resolution scheme (such as mediation) in order to resolve your complaint. If you are not satisfied with the manner in which we deal with your complaint, you may refer it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (“OAIC“). 9.              Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may occasionally make changes to this Privacy Policy. We will post any changes to this Privacy Policy on our Website. When we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will provide you with notice pursuant to applicable laws. To the extent permitted under applicable law, by using our services after such notice, you consent to our updates to this policy.  We encourage you to periodically review this policy for the latest information on our privacy practices.
